Terms of sale and license
Draft for the owner to review before launch. This is not legal advice. Last updated 10 October 2026.
These terms cover buying and using pg-witness, a command-line tool sold by Aabishkar Aryal ("we") at pgwitness.com. By buying or using it you agree to them.
Who sells it
Orders are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as the merchant of record and reseller. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase itself, including payment, tax, and invoicing. These terms cover the software.
What you get
One payment of $99 gets you a copy of the pg-witness binary for Linux amd64, delivered through a one-time download link. There is no subscription.
License
- You may install and run pg-witness on machines you or your organisation control, for personal or commercial work.
- You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publish the binary, or offer it to others as a hosted service.
- You keep all rights to your dumps and to the evidence files the tool writes.
No warranty
pg-witness is provided as is. A passing result means a restore succeeded on your machine at that time. It does not guarantee that a backup is complete, correct, or will restore elsewhere. Your remedy if the software does not work for you is the refund described in the refund policy.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, downtime, or any indirect or consequential damage arising from using or being unable to use pg-witness. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought applies to that purchase.
